The Black Bull Inn is situated in the town of Middleham in North Yorkshire on the north facing side of the valley just above the junction of the River Ure and River Cover. Visitors to Middleham will find themselves surrounded by the fantastic scenery of beautiful Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales. It is popular with various types of visitors, such as walkers, history buffs,  horseracing enthusiasts and cyclists.

There are many walks nearby  to go on for both the avid hiker and the casual rambler. Middleham is home to Middleham castle, a former residence of King Richard III and was known as the Windsor of the North. Nowadays, Middleham is more reknowned for its horse racing connections, with many top trainers residing within a short canter of the gallops on the moor above the village.
